We are pleased to have co-organized the “Gender Perspective in Data Research: Applications in Aging Research” event, together with XWHIN – Women’s Health Innovation Network, Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR) – Vall d’Hebron Institut de Recerca, Agència de Qualitat i Avaluació Sanitàries de Catalunya (AQuAS) and hashtag#CoPHipatia.

The discussions highlighted key gaps in research, including:
· The higher 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻
· The 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 in clinical trials
· The fact that aging women remain a particularly 𝘃𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽, also impacted differently by environmental factors.

The sessions also pointed to important opportunities: 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀, embracing diversity, and incorporating social and environmental determinants. A key takeaway was the need to 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝘅-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀, as they address different but complementary dimensions.

From the networks, we proudly support more inclusive and impactful research.
